I had a nice glass of Moscato while we waited & the atmosphere was terrific so I was able to have a great time with my companion. yum! and definitely better for you than bread! especially for me. All I can say to sum both dishes up is WOW! very very good experience! and what was even more neat is instead of the usual bread & butter or oil they came out with crackers & peanut butter. my companion had the steak ( med rare) with black eyed peas & carrots. I can say I'm very glad I found Weidman's! on this day I ordered the Redfish topped with shrimp with the cheese grits & carrots on the side. since Montgomery is usually a one day business trip for me I struggle sometimes to find a nice meal at mid day. it is only now that I had the time to tell you guys about it. I stopped in a couple of times before this and had a very good experience. I actually live about 2 & a half hours away from Weidman's. It felt just plan wrong not to since the kitchen obviously spent time and care preparing these.The martinis are top shelf and the beer taps have a good selection of regional flair.The staff is terrific and we enjoyed a side conversation with our waitress about here college plans.The entire dining experience was pretty unique for us and we will be making plans to come back through Meridian. This was my wife's entree which I nibbled on while eating mine:The shrimp tortellini was equally terrific and the creamy tomato sauce was a great twist.Both entree portions were quite ample and we ended up taking back a little of both. Had the scalloped potatoes as a side which my have been too rich when paired but hey, that's what takeout contains are for. Wow, what an unbelievable find! I don't think I can add more than what's already been written about the stuffed crab cakes other than to simply say: unbelievably terrific. We were searching for a place for dinner in Google Maps and ran into Weidmann's. There is another seafood place in town, that is just as good, if not better, and it's a real restaurant, I will go there from now on.We were in transit from Dallas to Atlanta and decided to cut the drive kinda in half by staying in Meridian.

Very rude and very unprofessional… I wish the community had enough discipline, to stop patronizing until the management understands how important the customer is to its business. People if you want to be talked to any kind of way, seafood express is the place to go. Needless to say, I have a lot of friends that travel to see me and before they leave, they would always stop by that gas station and purchase at least 50 + dollars of food just to take on the plane back home. I would gest to think the cashier was the part time security guard, she was talking so much trash to me, if I didn’t know any better, I would have thought she was going to come across the counter! Now, the customer (me) is being screamed at by the owner and the employee just for reporting my disappointment and opinion. Now that I am being verbally abused by the owner, to make a bad situation worse, the employee that talked about the owner so bad, just in our conversation, turns and start to defend her. I say again, the food is awesome!!!Īfter I ask to speak to her, my wish was granted, and the owner did exactly what her employee said she would, she said she understood but she still kept screaming and trying to explain to me why. Now, the food is outstanding!!! My ideology, “before you tear someone down, you should offer a hand to lift them up”. The incident was so heavy on my mind, so I ask the cashier to speak with the owner, and the cashier gave me the run down, she said “there is no need to speak to her because she will begin screaming, but I don’t think she means any harm, that’s just the way she is”, and she also said, “when she starts screaming, you will not be able to understand a thing she is saying, because after 17 years here she still can’t speak good English.” The owner demanding 25 additional cent each for extra paper bowl, so the customer gave it to her, however the owner didn’t like to way he handed her the money… I was so disturbed, that went it came for me to order, I was kind of afraid… Today, I receive a horrendous experience, When I walked in I witnessed a minor confrontation with one of the regular customers, about requesting some extra paper bowls the food is served in and it turned into a screaming match, where the owner was shouting at the customer. Since I moved back to West Alabama, this gas station, seafood express I try to visit at least once a month.
